"Oddnesses" of Seattle

- Little old ladies who either have purple streaks in their gray hair or braided dreads.
- Having city COMPOST pick up.
- Having all buses run either on biodiesel or electricity (which, I believe, is generated by wind farms)
- The one guy in the house being a 6ft. 9in tall, Catholic, southern, white, straight male who drives an SUV...and yet is very far from ACTUALLY fitting that stereotype...
- Lots and lots of bikers...LOTS.
- MANY fewer SUVs and those that do exist look like they are actually used for what they are ostensibly intended.
- Organic products very easily available.
- Stores advertising "No Sweat" "No Slave Labor" in their windows.
- Peace signs in the windows of about 75% of the houses.
- Mountains and water nearly every time you turn a corner. It's absolutely awesome!
- 4 of the 6 people in the Quest program are bi. Indeed, 4 of the 5 GIRLS are bi. Wonder which one isn't...? So...cool! Just didn't quite expect it... :-D
- Along the same lines...my new (female) boss has a wife...and I'm quite sure the (male) director of the organization is also gay...just gettin' the vibe.

I feel just a wee bit like Alice in the rabbit hole, except I'm very happy about being here. :-D

At least for me...

Beware the environment which conforms to everything you believe; that's when you start to notice that everything you believe is crap.

I prefer an antagonistic one! Silly/stupid Harvard/Berkeley liberals... GRR! :-p
